RON or Remote Online Notary allows for a Notary Public to notarize a legal document or affidavit via the internet. The document is further secured by purchasing a “digital certificate” which shows when if a document has been tampered with or not. It is attached to the Notary Publics SS as well as identity so the original document cannot be altered without their approval or consent.
